Worth Fighting For
“Worth Fighting For” was written during a transitional time in Rowan’s life. This song is about fighting for your life when it seems impossible. Thankfully, when things seem difficult, God can make a way. Rowan’s personal favorite line of the song is “replacing lies with truth, each and every day, so that love’s worth fighting for.” Love is worth fighting for in so many areas of life. Though some people may reject your personality or the way you do things, God never does. For the people who care and for the sake of Christ, love and life is always worth fighting for. Listen below.
Guiding me Home
“Guiding me Home” is a song released around the middle of the pandemic. Rowan was searching for a place to call home when he had some mental health issues. Even though people fail you, however, there is still forgiveness, reconciliation, and people who are always close to you. This proved true for Rowan’s family, who, despite their differences, were there for Rowan during a time when Rowan experienced a time of confusion, feeling lost, and overcoming personal sin. Rowan realized that it’s okay not to be okay and to have strong boundaires for things that don’t work out. Lastly, Rowan learned years later that the only confidence necessary in life is that which you need, not a false confidence based on greed. Listen below.
Teach Us
“Teach Us” is the second song ever recorded by Rowan. Teach Us was written during a time of radical change for Rowan. Rowan needed to learn to let go of old relationships, learn grace, and learn what it truly means to forgive and reconcile with others. Rowan realized that interdependence is much more worthwhile than rugged independence or codependence. In this day and age, it is important to stay connected and to be vulnerable, with an open heart to love just as Christ did. Listen below.
