Journey to Songwriting

Before the pandemic, I graduated college and was trying to find something to do with music. So after some prayer and consideration, I joined the worship team at my church. Just before the pandemic, I felt a tugging on my heart to try writing music. So I started writing actually when I had spare time between jobs or even on jobs. During the pandemic, I did basic recording and melodies of my songs, then went into a local studio in Santa Clara to release my first EP of 5 songs: “New Life Reigns.” Then, after about a year, I moved to Los Angeles and started to write and record a lot on my own. I tried to “make it” so to speak. In reality, while I admired the weather and some cultural aspects of Los Angeles, there was a lot that didn’t fit with me. However, while I was down there, I found a group in Nashville that I really enjoyed to help with songwriting from pros. I am still with them to this day, and they have helped me to craft songs with other songwriters and artists. I have released a total of 12 songs around the time I joined them in 2022, with a short break for a while, but still writing strong. My hope is to share the themes to help people in whatever they’re struggling with. I incorporate themes such as gentleness, interdependence, and other values such as these to help people value honor, dignity and self expression and remind themself of their value as made in God’s image.
